As a subconsultant to Suitt Construction Company on this design-build project, ZHA provided permitting, project scheduling and field support during the building of JetBlue Airways’ 80,000-square-foot flight training center at Orlando International Airport. The training center will have a capacity for eight flight simulators. When the facility opens in late 2005, JetBlue will have four Airbus A320 simulators and two EMBRAER 190 jet flight simulators. The center will also have two cabin simulators, plus classrooms, administrative areas, cabin crew training equipment, a training pool, and a firefighting training station.
JetBlue will use its new facility for the initial and continuous training of all its pilots and inflight crews. The training center will also be used for support training for the airline’s technical operations and customer service crews.
